- The Maldives Ministry of Finance and Planning has issued an expression of interest (EOI) to interested proponents for the installation of 100MW-150MW solar PV power generation plant under design, build, finance, own, operate and transfer basis.
The Maldives, officially the Republic of Maldives, and historically known as the Maldive Islands, is a country and archipelago state in South Asia in the Indian Ocean.
The Government intends to implement a 100 MW to 150 MW solar project in the Greater Male’ region. This project, which includes battery storage to balance Solar PV supply and demand within the grid, is expected to contribute to the national electricity feed. It will encompass the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the facility.
