The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Nomusa Dube-Ncube, is set to officially launch the Artisan and Skills Development Centre and the Renewable Energy Training Centre at Elangeni TVET College in Inchanga, KwaZulu Natal, on Friday.
Held under the theme, “Skills Revolution Realised: From Skills to Production, From Training to Transformation”, the launch reflects the college’s commitment to ensuring that skills development delivers tangible outcomes in production, employment creation and socio economic development.
The new Artisan and Skills Development Centre represents a major investment in artisan training and occupational skills development. The facility is expected to strengthen the supply of skilled workers needed to support South Africa’s industrial growth and economic development objectives.
A central feature of the initiative is the Renewable Energy Training Centre, established through a partnership between Elangeni TVET College, Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority, Department of Higher Education and Training and Chinese Culture and International Education Exchange Centre.
The collaboration is expected to promote international knowledge sharing while strengthening the college’s ability to deliver specialised renewable energy training programmes.
According to the Department of Higher Education and Training, the centre has been designed to enhance training in renewable energy technologies, with a particular focus on photovoltaic systems. The facility will also support South Africa’s just energy transition by providing students with practical, industry aligned skills required by the growing clean energy sector.
A career exhibition will form part of the launch programme, showcasing opportunities across artisan trades and the renewable energy industry. The exhibition is intended to raise awareness of vocational career pathways while expanding access to training and employment opportunities.
The launch marks an important milestone in the college’s efforts to strengthen artisan development, occupational training and future focused skills delivery in support of South Africa’s economic and energy transition goals.

Hi
I am a student, please keep me posted
I would like to apply.
Yeah me too.
They mustn’t chow the money like some colleges I won’t mention because I know for sure most of these programmes and learning centres are fully-funded by Chinese Corps and partially subsidised by the our Gov but 3 months done the line when the sponsors turn the corner stop the oversight, these colleges start charging students for these programmes.
