Ventilators

Extract hot/polluted air in a cost-effective manner

Ventilators are a cost-effective way of extracting hot polluted air from your building indoor environment and introducing fresh air to replace it. The system is human and environmentally friendly and requires no electricity to operate. Ventilators are activated by natural convection which is also assisted by the wind. Increasingly this type of industrial ventilation is gaining acceptance in buildings replacing energy-consuming extraction systems.

The roof a building contains hot air due to heating caused by the sun and production processes. The internal building areas generally contain air that is much cooler. To allow natural convection to occur, provision is made for a vent at the top of the building roof cavity. This allows the hot air to rise out of the roof cavity and escape. The system extracts heat and induces currents of fresh air producing a substantial cooling effect on building visitors and workers plus improves the indoor air quality. The system also assists in maintaining a consistent ambient indoor temperature. Ventilators can also be wall mounted.

Useful Information

Ventilation Rates

Prevailing atmospheric conditions will vary ventilation rates.

Cleaner & Healthier Work Environments

Eliminates dust penetration and a down-draught into the building to ensure a cleaner and healthier working environment.

Reduce Heat Build-Up

Reduces heat build-up in immediately under the building roof and reduces heat radiation from roof into the building interior.

Reduce Aircon Workload Internally

Reduces the workload of the air-conditioning system.

Extraction Benefits

Positive extraction removes heat, fumes, steam, dust and bad odours.

Removal Of Pollutants

Improves productivity by creating a better working environment by removing hot polluted air.

Highlighted Ventilation Features

Improves indoor air quality, operates silently, requires no maintenance. Removes moisture which is known to deteriorate structures and cause mould to grow in roof rafters and attic spaces.

Installation Procedure

Make sure installation is done correctly to prevent gaps and water penetration. Make sure the system is “bird proof”.

Integrated Deployment Is Required

The deployment must be part of the overall design, working in balance with other ventilation features.
