  • Partnership builds on the successful delivery of Africa’s largest wind farm at Ras Ghareb.

Envision Energy has signed an agreement with AMEA Power for the 500MW Amunet II wind project in Egypt, strengthening the companies’ collaboration and increasing AMEA Power’s total wind generation portfolio in the country to 1GW once the project is completed.

The agreement follows the commissioning of AMEA Power’s 500MW wind power plant at Ras Ghareb in June 2025. Developed in partnership with Envision Energy, the project is Africa’s largest wind farm and demonstrated the partners’ ability to deliver utility scale renewable energy projects efficiently and at scale.

The successful completion of the Ras Ghareb project has strengthened investor confidence in the bankability and scalability of large renewable energy developments while laying the foundation for continued collaboration between the two companies.

Amunet II will be AMEA Power’s second utility scale wind project in Egypt. Once operational, the combined capacity of its Egyptian wind portfolio will reach 1GW, supporting the country’s renewable energy targets and its transition to a cleaner and more diversified energy mix.

Kane Xu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, said the partnership had grown into a long term strategic collaboration built on trust, innovation and value creation.

“The Amunet II project demonstrates the scalability of our partnership and the importance of global collaboration in the energy transition. Egypt is playing an increasingly important role in the global shift towards clean energy, and Envision Energy will continue to deploy its technologies and project delivery expertise to provide reliable and efficient renewable energy solutions across Egypt and the wider MENA region.”

Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, said the successful delivery of the Ras Ghareb wind project highlighted the value of strong partnerships and a shared commitment to execution.

“The Amunet II project represents the next phase of our collaboration with Envision Energy and reflects our continued confidence in Egypt’s renewable energy sector. Together, these projects will increase our wind portfolio in Egypt to 1GW, supporting the country’s energy transition while delivering long term economic and social benefits.”
