Spintelligent Deliver World Class African Utility Week and POWERGEN Africa Conference

  • The African Utility Week and POWERGEN Africa took place last week in South Africa at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
  • The event has become Africa’s premier energy and water conference and exhibition.
  • This year’s event did not disappoint, attracting over 10 000 energy and water professionals from across the globe.
  • The event can only be described as world class but more importantly high informative.

The African Utility Week conference and exhibition has a longstanding reputation of producing innovative, topical and high-level content, discussion and engagement. This year’s event did not disappoint.

The new co-location of POWERGEN Africa in 2019 added an expanded focus on generation, including renewables, off-grid, fossil fuels and nuclear, while still concentrating on transmission, distribution, metering, new technologies including storage, mini-grids, microgrids, IOT and ICT systems, as well as water.

Along with multiple side events and numerous networking functions, the event boasted a five-track strategic conference with over 300 expert speakers. An extensive Knowledge Hub programme that is CPD accredited and free to attend, offered hands-on presentations taking place in defined spaces on the exhibition floor.

Despite so much simultaneous event activity, everything flowed with seamless precision. In short, the event was world class but most importantly, high informative to those in attendance.

Well done to the organisers, Spintelligent who pride themselves on delivering the highest quality of service and satisfaction to support their client’s investment in Africa. The sponsors, speakers, exhibitors plus the thousands of people who attended were not disappointed.

The team at Spintelligent plan to make next year’s event bigger and even better. I am already looking forward to it!

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
