  • SolaX ORI PCS 215K becomes the first China based energy storage converter to pass the Austrian Oesterreichs Energie Type B on site test.
  • Certification by TÜV Rheinland and the Austrian Institute of Technology supports market entry into Austria.
  • The system targets large scale grid applications with advanced performance and reliability.

Global and high quality smart energy solutions provider, SolaX Power,  has reached a significant milestone in its European expansion after its ORI PCS 215K energy storage converter became the first product from China to pass the Austrian Oesterreichs Energie Type B on site test. The testing and certification process was supported by TÜV Rheinland Shanghai and the Austrian Institute of Technology, providing independent validation against Austrian grid code requirements.

The successful test clears a key regulatory hurdle for SolaX and enables the company to enter the Austrian energy storage market with strong technical credentials. Austria applies some of the most stringent grid connection standards in Europe, particularly for systems operating at scale and interacting directly with public power networks.

Designed for utility scale energy storage projects, the ORI PCS 215K delivers high efficiency, stable operation and flexible system integration. The converter is suitable for projects exceeding 100 MWh and features a modular architecture that supports faster deployment and simplified maintenance. Faults can be isolated at module level, reducing downtime, lowering service costs and improving overall lifecycle performance.

The system uses an advanced three level bidirectional topology to optimise energy conversion and minimise power losses. This design supports higher efficiency operation and aligns with global low carbon development objectives. With IP66 protection and a C5 anti corrosion rating, the converter is engineered for harsh outdoor conditions, including environments with high humidity and corrosive exposure.

When combined with the ORI liquid cooling energy storage system, the solution offers comprehensive grid support capabilities. These include grid forming operation and black start functionality, allowing rapid recovery following grid outages. The system can also support frequency regulation, peak shaving and backup power, contributing to grid stability and resilience.

TÜV Rheinland brings global expertise in testing and certification for renewable energy technologies, while the Austrian Institute of Technology provides applied research leadership aligned with current European grid connection standards. Their joint involvement ensures that the certification reflects real world operating requirements in advanced power systems.
