- NOA Group (NOA) has entered 20 year 37 GWh per annum wheeled renewable energy agreement with Redefine Properties.
“NOA’s bespoke energy products are ideal for property sector customers. By allowing energy reallocation between multiple locations across South Africa, we ensure high renewable energy penetration while limiting the risk of customers paying for unused energy.” – Karel Cornelissen, CEO at NOA
With a municipal wheeling solution between the parties to follow as a second phase, the initial agreement focusses on 11 Eskom connected properties within Redefine’s portfolio.
NOA will source the energy from both third-party independent power producers and its own generation facilities.
One of the sites that will be supplying Redefine is the Khauta solar PV project. In May last year, NOA acquired the 350MW PV facility from PNE. Located near Welkom in the Free State, the Khuata site brings NOA’s total grid-secured assets to around 500MW.
