Message of Condolences From DMRE on the Passing of Ms Princess Ntombifuthi Ntuli

Ms Ntuli played a major role in the energy sector, particularly with regards our departmental, national and global agenda on renewable energy. Upon her appointment in 2019 to the position of SAWEA CEO, she hit the tarmac running and made an immediate impact on the sector.

The DMRE and SAWEA have lost a visionary leader on whose shoulders we had vested the hope that she would continue to grow her contribution to the sector, as she worked towards the curbing of global warming through the promotion of renewable energy programmes, and wind energy in particular.

On behalf of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy family we extend our heart-felt condolences to Ms Ntuli’s family, and in particular her children. We also extend our condolences to Ms Ntuli’s colleagues at the South African Wind Energy Association, and sector who worked with her over the years. We pray for divine strength for all as we mourn and bid farewell to one whose life was well lived and is gone too soon.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
