Last call for Botswana’s 100MW solar PV tender

  • The Botswana Power Corporation, the country’s national power utility, launched a tender for a 100 MW solar PV project in Jwaneng, located in Botswana’s south.
  • Power producers have until 31st October 2023 to submit proposals relating to the development, financing, construction operation and management of the project.

According to the tender document, the procurement exercise is open to citizen-owned companies and non-citizen-owned companies. However, non-citizen-owned applicants must subcontract at least 40% of the work to citizen-owned companies.

The announcement does not include information about technical requirements for construction.
