Kenya Launches Tender for 21 Solar PV/Diesel Hybrid Mini-Grids

Tender Notice

  • Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has issued a tender to add solar to 21existing diesel mini-grids across the country.
  • An additional mini grid will add wind power while another will integrate a hybrid wind-solar power generator.
  • The deadline to submit project proposals is 2nd March 2021.

The projects are being supported by the Kenyan Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation and French development agency Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group
