  • JinkoSolar (Jinko), one of the largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers in the world, last night launched their new N-Type module, the Tiger Neo at the Elephant Hills Hotel in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
  • This follows a very succesful launch of the Tiger Neo range in Kenya.

The product launch was held at the ongoing  Renewable Energy Conference  hosted by the AMH in partnership with the Zimbabwe  Ministry of Energy and Power Development under the theme “The New Frontier: Net Zero Africa.” In presence at the launch government officials,  Zimbabwe Energy Minister, EPCs, Developers, and all key energy players.

Tiger Neo produces over 3% more power than its P-PERC counterparts owing to its benefits including lower degradation, higher temperature, better low light performance in the morning and later afternoon, lower rate of LID (light-induced degradation) and does not suffer from LeTID (light and elevated temperature induced degradation), unlike P-type cells. The main motivation behind the development of more powerful solar panels such as Tiger Neo is to reduce the cost of utility-scale solar farms and ultimately electricity prices.

Also during the launch Jinko introduces its Energy Storage solutions (ESS) for residential, commercial, and Industrial utility-scale applications. The standard solutions range from 1KWH to 10800kwh. Titus Koech, the  Technical Service Manager SSA from Jinko Solar stated that they have full confidence that the solutions they are bringing into the Zimbabwean & Sub-Saharan market will break a great revolution into solving bad and reliable grid problems in the region. He also mentioned that they have already shipped a number of solutions for C&I  and residential customers in the SADC region.

As a world-leading solar module manufacturer, Jinko Solar remains the only manufacturer producing n-type mass production, while other tier 1 manufacturers are still in the pilot stage. By using intelligent equipment and quality control systems, Jinko Solar continues to set industry standards for intelligent premium quality manufacturing.

We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
