  • JinkoSolar, the leading solar panel and energy storage manufacturer, will deliver 15.48MWh storage system to the GWI’s Tiger Neo + ESS utility project in Japan, including 72 sets of 215kWh liquid cooling containerized energy storage system SunGiga.

Profitability, safety, integration, and operation & maintenance (O&M) costs, are always major concerns for stakeholders when choosing an ideal C&I ESS. The SunGiga is designed for the 250kW mainstream market, available for 2-hour and 4-hour applications. The SunGiga was jointly pre-commissioned so that all parameters were set before leaving the manufacturing base, decreasing on-site commissioning time and guaranteeing early revenue for project owners.

Due to the patent designed liquid cooling technology, the SunGiga comes with a lower cell temperature difference within 2.5 Celsius degrees, extending the lifetime of batteries and significantly improving the charging and discharging efficiency. Compared with the conventional air-cooling design, the liquid-cooled system also significantly reduces thermal management energy consumption. The automatic state of charge (SoC) calibration and the automated coolant refilling considerably reduce operating and maintenance (O&M) costs.

Safety is the top priority for battery system technology. JinkoSolar’s SunGiga offers comprehensive safety design from the cell, rack, pack, and system levels. AI-assisted cell monitoring technology performs high-precision online computing of cell status and provides early-stage warnings to prevent thermal runaway. Five layers of protection mitigate electrical hazards. SunGiga also offers a combustible gas detection and ventilation system as well as an extra water-based spray suppression system.

The liquid cooling ESS SunGiga exceeds the demand for flexibility and outstanding performance. With increasing interest in using ESS, solar-plus-storage becomes another increase within the industry. JinkoSolar’s solar-plus-storage combo solution optimized for C&I markets will ensure lower power pricing and energy security.

JinkoSolar offers a wide range or energy storage solutions for residential, C&I plus utility scale applications.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
