JA Solar has appointed Wang Junsheng as President of its energy storage subsidiary, JA Solar Energy Storage Co., Ltd., as the company accelerates its expansion into the global energy storage market.

The appointment, announced on May 20, marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to strengthen its integrated PV, storage and smart energy ecosystem. Industry observers say the move signals a new phase for JA Solar’s storage division, with a stronger focus on professional operations, large scale deployment and international growth.

Chairman of JA Solar Energy Storage, Jin Junhui, describes energy storage as a central pillar of the company’s future growth strategy amid the global energy transition.

“Energy storage is not only an extension of JA Solar’s photovoltaic business, but also a core strategic direction for the company to create a second growth engine and strengthen long term competitiveness,” he said.

Jin added that Wang’s industry expertise would strengthen the company’s capabilities in product positioning, system integration, global market expansion and utility scale project delivery.

In his new role, Wang will oversee the expansion of JA Solar’s energy storage business into international markets while supporting the delivery of large scale projects as the company positions itself as a global green energy solutions provider.

“Energy storage is becoming a critical support for new power systems and will be a core area of competition as the global energy transition enters a more complex stage,” Wang said.
