- GoodWe commemorated its 15th anniversary on Wednesday with an international summit at its headquarters in Suzhou, celebrating the company’s evolution from a solar inverter manufacturer into a global smart-energy solutions provider.
Held under the theme “Connected by Light, Creating Beyond Limits,” the event brought together employees, partners, and industry leaders for a day of speeches, discussions, and an anniversary ceremony reflecting on the company’s innovation-driven growth. The milestone also marked a new phase in GoodWe’s strategy to advance Smart Energy Integration across generation, grid, load, storage, and intelligence.

“Powered by innovation, strengthened by our people, and trusted by our partners,” said Founder and CEO Daniel Huang, highlighting the core forces behind GoodWe’s rise over the past 15 years. Since its founding in 2010, the company has expanded to more than 6,000 employees worldwide and has become a major player in global solar and storage markets.
Advancing a new power system
In a keynote presentation, Huang outlined the company’s vision for the next stage of the global energy transition, emphasizing the growing importance of integrated, intelligent energy systems. He described smart energy architecture—linking generation, grid, load, storage, and digital intelligence—as the foundation of the future power system.
GoodWe’s strategic shift began in 2020, when the company broadened its portfolio to include batteries, all-in-one energy storage systems, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), heat pumps, and smart-energy management platforms.
“When we first defined our direction five years ago after going public, our goal was clear: to connect every energy element through intelligence,” Huang said. Intelligence, he noted, is now the most transformative component of the company’s offerings, enabling systems to optimize performance and enhance resilience across diverse markets.
Global partners highlight regional needs, shared momentum
A roundtable titled “Smart Energy Integration in Practice: Diversity and Convergence across Global Markets” brought together industry leaders from Pakistan, South Africa, and Germany. Speakers, including Anees Arif of ZNC Solar, Vincent Maposa of Wetility, and Franz-Josef Feilmeier of Fenecon, discussed the interplay of GoodWe’s five strategic elements under varying regional policies and infrastructure conditions.
Despite differences in market maturity and energy challenges, participants pointed to a unifying trend: the global shift toward digitalized, user-centric, and integrated energy ecosystems.
GoodWe also showcased successful projects aligned with this strategy, including virtual power plants, dynamic pricing applications, and commercial off-grid storage systems—case studies the company says demonstrate the real-world value of smart energy integration.
A vision for the era of energy prosumers
Attendees toured GoodWe’s Global Headquarters, where the company displayed how its products—from hybrid residential systems to commercial storage, BIPV, heat pumps, and its SEMS platform—enable buildings to both produce and consume energy.
Huang said this shift toward energy prosumers will define the next chapter of GoodWe’s development. “In the near future, every household, factory, community, and even city will become an energy prosumer, producing, consuming, and sharing energy intelligently,” he said.
With its 15-year milestone marked, GoodWe signaled it is preparing for the next phase of the global energy transition—one where intelligence, integration, and user empowerment take center stage
