On 10 October 2025, Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Zhejiang University in China during a formal ceremony held in KwaZulu-Natal.
The MoU provides a platform for collaboration between both parties, with a focus on capacity building and skills development. It establishes a framework through which Eskom and Zhejiang University intend to foster and grow a cooperative relationship in education, training, and research initiatives related to new technologies.
Through this partnership, Eskom will leverage Zhejiang University’s extensive expertise as a leading institution in renewable energy, clean and efficient fuel utilisation, energy storage, and hydrogen technologies, anchored in its specialised research institutes.
