South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa received five mobile generators from the People’s Republic of China with a capacity of 620KW, enough to power over 600 average size homes.

The Minister was joined by the Mayor of Msunduzi local Municipality, Cllr Mzimkhulu Thebolla and the People’s Republic of China’s Ambassador in South Africa, Mr Wu Pang. The Power Vehicles will be deployed in cases of emergency to support recovery efforts to save lives and property, and at major events of National interest without relying on costly outside assistance.

“The relationship between South Africa and China is one of mutual respect, the pursuit of development and the advancement of common good of our people,” said Ramokgopa.
