“Niveshen leaves SAPVIA after five years, having joined as a programme manager in 2016 before taking on the responsibilities of COO in 2019. Niveshen leaves SAPVIA with the thanks and very best wishes of the board and our members. His efforts to professionalise the association, drive value for our members and advocate on behalf of solar PV and renewables are to be commended,” says SAPVIA chairperson Wido Schnabel.

“The numerous networks, relationships and spaces that he created for SAPVIA to realise its mandate will continue to stand the Association and its members in good standing for the next decade of our work. While we are sad to see him go, I have no doubt that he will continue to collaborate and work together with SAPVIA to drive the renewables agenda forward,” added Schnabel.

Pierre Nothard has spent 26 years in various general management positions within the Allied Electronics (Altron) Group, and one year as Xerox India MD in 2002. From 2012 to 2019, he incorporated and served as electrical-industry body South African Safehouse Association chairperson.

You can catch Pierre Nothard at Solar Power Africa 2022. Solar Power Africa is the leading solar & energy storage event in Africa. The premier conference and expo takes place 16 – 18 February 2022 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Organised by Messe Frankfurt, and presented in partnership with Solar Energy Trade Shows, host of Solar Power International, supported by Rand Merchant Bank and powered by the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA).

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
