Itโ€™s been a long journey from feasibility studies, resource mobilization, safeguard studies, Wayleave acquisition, design, construction, commissioning and finally resulting in grid interconnection. Appreciate all the team members that implemented the following components of the regional interconnection:

  • 500kV HVDC Ethiopia Kenya line
  • Suswa Convertor and Substation
  • 400kV Suswa Isinya line
  • Isinya substation
  • 400kV Kenya Tanzania line

Looking forward to a date when electricity flows from Egypt to South Africa and across the countries in the region and power pools,” concluded Mativo.
