Zanzibar issues EPC tender for 18MW solar project

  • Zanzibar (RGoZ), via the United Republic of Tanzania (the “Borrower”) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Zanzibar Energy Sector Transformation and Access Project (ZESTA) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the Contract for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Initial Operation of the 18MW Solar PV Plant at Makunduchi, Zanzibar. 

Zanzibar Electricity Corporation (ZECO), the Implementing Agency, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Initial Operation of the Solar PV Plant, which includes the following: 

Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Initial Operation of the Solar PV Plant – design, supply, installation/construction, testing and commissioning and initial operation of the proposed Greenfield solar PV power generation plant. The initial operation and maintenance of the photovoltaic (PV) plant for a period of 3 years, ensuring smooth performance and addressing any operational challenges will be responsibility of EPC contractor.
