Somalia extends deadline for 55MW solar/BESS hybrid project

  • Sponsored by the World Bank, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources in Somalia has invited eligible bidders for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 55MWp (AC) Solar PV Power plant with 160MWh of battery energy storage system for Beco at Jazeera Power Plant in Mogadishu.ย 
  • BECO is a Somalia based energy company that owns and operates most of the electricity transmission and distribution systems In South Central Somalia.
  • The tender will now close on 5th May and not April 14, 2025 as originally announced.ย
