  • SolaX has achieved a major milestone in its push into the European energy storage market, becoming the first company in China to have its 215kW energy storage converter, the ORI-PCS-215K, pass the Austrian Oesterreichs Energie Type B on-site test.
  • The certification was completed with the support of TÜV Rheinland (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), marking a significant step toward the product’s entry into Austria’s power infrastructure sector.

The successful test underscores the ORI-PCS-215K’s readiness for deployment in utility-scale energy storage projects. Designed for installations exceeding 100 MWh, the converter features high-efficiency performance, a modular architecture, and stable long-term operation. Its modular design allows failures to be isolated to individual units, reducing maintenance burdens and system downtime while enhancing lifecycle value.

The system uses an advanced three-level bidirectional topology to improve energy conversion efficiency and reduce losses. Equipped with IP66 protection and a C5 anti-corrosion rating, the converter is engineered for challenging environments with high humidity and corrosive conditions, ensuring reliable operation in long-duration outdoor applications.

When paired with the ORI Liquid Cooling ESS, the solution provides full grid-support capabilities, including grid-forming operation, black-start functionality, frequency regulation, peak-shaving, and backup power. These features enable fast recovery from grid failures and support grid stabilization efforts, aligning with global trends toward flexible and resilient power systems.

TÜV Rheinland and AIT played critical roles in certifying the converter. As a global leader in testing and certification, TÜV Rheinland brings extensive technical expertise and strict evaluation protocols to renewable energy products. Its Smart Energy Laboratory in Shanghai—accredited by CBTL, CNAS, and DAkkS—serves as one of Asia-Pacific’s most advanced testing facilities for PV inverters, energy storage converters, and charging systems. AIT, Austria’s premier applied research institute, ensured the testing met the latest European grid connection requirements.

SolaX and TÜV Rheinland have expanded their collaboration since forming a partnership in 2023, working together to advance innovation and quality in the renewable energy sector.

With AIT certification now secured, SolaX says it is positioned to accelerate its global expansion in large-scale energy storage. The company plans to continue developing high-performance solutions aimed at supporting the worldwide transition to sustainable, low-carbon power systems.
