SARS tenders for solar PV EPC service providers to roll out solar PV systems at their offices

  • The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has issued a tender for the establishment of a panel of contractors for engineering, designing and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at SARS offices.

SARS is in the process of establishing green alternative power sources for its various offices nationwide. To achieve this objective SARS successfully appointed various service providers for the supply of necessary components, namely the solar panels, inverters, and batteries. SARS is looking to establish a panel of contractors that will be requested on an ad-hoc basis for engineering, designing and Installation of a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System in various SARS offices.

This project will aim to achieve the following objectives:

  • Improve sustainability of the facilities and reduce its carbon footprint.
  • Lower the operating costs of the facilities.
  • Reduced generator diesel consumption during loadshedding.
