  • The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) has launched a pre-qualification round for the construction and operation of two wind power projects totalling 400MW located in Northern Morocco.
  • The 150MW Nassim Nord wind project will be located at Koudia Al Baida in the northern provinces of Fahs Anjra and M’diq-Fnideq while the 250MW Nassim Dar Chaoui project will be located in Tangier and Tetouan provinces.
  • Closing date for bids is June 24.

“Due to its Project Financing structure, this new Program will promote greater involvement of the private sector in the deployment of Renewable Energies with the participation of commercial banks, Moroccan and international, in its financing,” the Masen statement reads.

The project aligns with Morocco’s strategy to ramp up its renewable energy capacity, aiming for renewables to constitute at least 52% of its electricity mix by the close of the decade.

We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
