- In the early hours of this morning, Eskom reported the loss of five generating units at Kendal Power Station and a generating unit at Duvha Power Station.
- As a result, Stage 4 loadshedding (blackouts) will be implemented at 04:00 today until further notice.
- No reason was given for the simultaneous loss of five generation at Kendal Power Station.
Last night Eskom reported:
- Available generation: 25 927MW
- Loadshedding: 1 648 MW
- Unplanned breakdowns: 14 278 MW
- Planned maintenance: 7 236 MW
