License fee of 0.13023 cents per kWh now payable by licensed generators who supply electricity in South Africa

  • Confirmed in the Government Gazette, it is now prescribed that companies who hold a generation license to supply electricity in South Africa are now subject to levy of 0.13023 cents per kWh payable to NERSA, the country’s national energy regulator, effective 01 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.ย 

This publication has written to NERSA seeking clarification on the matter. An update will be published in due course.
