  • At Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week (ADSW), Masdar, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development, announced that JinkoSolar is the preferred module supplier for its Round the Clock (RTC) project in the UAE, the world’s first large-scale, all-weather, gigawatt-scale renewable energy project.

Developed by Masdar in partnership with Emirates Water and Electricity Corporation (EWEC), the project consists of a 5.2 GW (DC) solar PV power station and a 19 GWh BESS, which provides 24-hour uninterrupted renewable energy supply for a stable and efficient power supply. The project utilizes JinkoSolar Tiger Neo Series 66 Edition PV modules, based on N-Type TOPCon technology, which offer excellent low degradation rate, low temperature coefficient, and high reliability. Even in harsh environments such as high radiation, high temperatures, large temperature differences between diurnal temperature variations, and sandstorms, the modules are able to maintain stable and efficient power output, ensuring the long-term reliable operation of the project.

Abdulaziz Alobaidli, Chief Operating Officer of Masdar, said, “As Masdar’s largest project to date, we wanted to select the best partner to ensure the project is of the highest caliber.”

Committed to advancing global renewable energy through technological innovation, JinkoSolar has shipped over 300GW of modules worldwide. Data indicates that JinkoSolar now ships 1GW of modules every four days to nearly 200 countries and regions, maintaining relationships with over 4,000 long-term customers. Notably, the N-Type Tiger Neo modules have become the world’s best-selling module type, with shipments exceeding 150GW.

This cooperation with Masdar is not only a high recognition of JinkoSolar’s technical strength, but also a strong proof of its influence in the global renewable energy market. In the future, JinkoSolar will continue to work with more partners to provide more efficient, economical and reliable renewable energy solutions.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
