  • JinkoSolar, the leading solar panel and energy storage manufacturer, has successfully delivered  25 sets of its flagship C&I liquid cooling BESS SunGiga grid tied energy storage system to factory in Xiaodong Dongguan.

In the on-grid mode, this solar plus storage system participates in the regulation of the power market and realizes the application of peak-load shifting.

Based on the patent designed liquid cooling technology, the SunGiga comes with a lower cell temperature difference within 2.5 Celsius degrees, extending the lifetime of batteries and significantly improving the charging and discharging efficiency. Compared with the conventional air-cooling design, the liquid-cooled system also significantly reduces thermal management energy consumption. The automatic state of charge (SoC) calibration and the automated coolant refilling considerably reduce operating and maintenance (O&M) costs.

Ultimate safety is another key consideration factor of Xiaodong, highlighting the safety design of ESS, and raising the entry bar for selection. By integrating advanced power electronics and digital technologies with a multi-layer protection scheme, the key of SunGiga is accurate and reliable monitoring and management of energy storage products from the battery cell level to the system level. The traditional protection mode based on passive response and physical isolation is upgraded to active automatic protection and even alarm prediction in advance, implementing multi-dimensional safety design from hardware to soft- ware, and from structure to algorithm.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
