  • JinkoSolar, one of the largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers in the world, today launched their new N-Type PV modules (Tiger Neo) and their Residential and C&I  Energy Storage Solution at the Windhoek Country Club in Windhoek, Namibia.
  • JinkoSolar distinguishes itself from competitors by mass-producing N-Type TOPCon cells with 25%+ efficiency. Read more

Tiger Neo produces over 3% more power than its current P type mono-PERC counterparts owing to its benefits including lower degradation, higher bifaciality, higher-temperature performance, better low-light performance in the morning and later afternoon, lower rate of LID (light-induced degradation) and not suffer from the effects of LeTID (light and elevated temperature induced degradation), unlike P-type cells.

The main motivation behind the development of more powerful solar panels such as Tiger Neo is to reduce the Levelized cost of electricity from solar farms and ultimately make solar a competitive renewable energy source of energy.

Jinko Solar is popularly known as a module manufacturer is now diversifying its renewable energy products and it recently ventured into Energy Storage solutions.  They introduced energy storage solutions (ESS) for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. The solutions ranged from 1kwh to 2000kwh for residential and commercial & industrial applications and also more than 2000kwh for utility-scale applications.

Titus Koech who is the Technical Service Manager from Jinko Solar Sub -Saharan Africa stated that the new Tiger Neo PV modules and Jinko Energy storage solution is coming at the right time when the universe is facing a global electricity shortage which has resulted in longer duration load shedding (upto 14 hours in some countries in Africa). He also stated that there has also been pressure to not only increase access to electricity but to also make it affordable. ‘As discussed today, we could clearly see that in some project scenarios, Tiger Neo would result in lowering solar farm LCOE by even more than 6% compared to the current Mono PERC modules” – said Mr Koech.

JinkoSolar was the first company in history to reach the 100GW milestone delivery of  Solar Panels and a global market share of 12% meaning approximately one out of every ten solar modules installed in the world was produced by JinkoSolar. JinkoSolar is also the first solar company moving quickly on green initiatives with most of their global facilities powered with 51.3% clean energy as a step towards RE100.

Jinko Solar modules are well-reputed for having the best quality components in the market and this was proven by the tests standard in the industry, whether it’s IEC, double IEC, or RETC and PQP tests, Jinko modules are always top performers.

As a world-leading solar module manufacturer, Jinko Solar remains the only manufacturer producing n-type mass production, while other tiers 1 manufacturers are still in the pilot stage. By using intelligent equipment and quality control systems, Jinko Solar continues to set industry standards for intelligent premium quality manufacturing. Jinko Solar has been ranked as no.1 supplier in module shipments for four consecutive years.

Jinko Solar a Chinese-based company with stakeholders all around the world including SADC has worked with quite a number of organizations in the renewable energy space with Pupkewitz Megatech Windhoek being one of their official distributors in Namibia.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
