JinkoSolar files patent infringement lawsuits in the USA against VSUN Solar USA and TOYO

  • Market leader and globally respected solar panel manufacturer, JinkoSolar, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the US District Court in California against VSUN Solar USA and TOYO of infringing on its proprietary technology, with no specific details provided.
  • Jinko is seeking a preliminary and permanent injunction against VSUN, damages and a trial by jury.

In their filing, Jinko stated it has been awarded more than 2800 issued patents with a proprietary portfolio comprising 462 industry-leading patents related to n-type TOPCon technology.

โ€œJinkoSolar has earned its leadership position in the global solar module market through significant R&D investments and will vigorously defend its intellectual property against those who sell infringing products,โ€ said Louise Lu, a patent litigation lawyer with Perkins Coie LLP.

VSUN and TOYO are both vertically integrated solar PV manufacturers from Japan but have set up manufacturing bases in the USA.
