  • The delivery strengthens Jinko ESS position in utility mining and remote power markets.
  • The project highlights shift from equipment supply to full system integration.
  • The integrated solution supports hybrid solar diesel and storage operations.

Jinko ESS, a global energy storage company and a subsidiary of Jinko Solar Co Ltd, has announced the delivery of a 5MWh battery energy storage system for a mining related power project in Western Australia. The delivery marks another milestone in the company’s expansion within the Australian energy market, particularly in applications requiring high levels of safety reliability and operational availability.

The system forms part of an integrated utility scale energy storage solution designed to support utility mining and remote power applications. It incorporates Jinko ESS second generation 5MWh battery system alongside power conversion equipment and advanced system level controls. The configuration enables coordinated operation between solar photovoltaic generation diesel power and battery storage within a single hybrid energy system.

According to the company, the project builds on its growing track record in Australia, where more than 100MWh of battery energy storage capacity is expected to be integrated by the end of the year. The latest deployment reflects Jinko ESS progression from supplying standalone equipment to delivering fully integrated solutions for complex energy environments.

The project was developed in compliance with Australian standards and safety requirements, supported by early certification planning and the involvement of local engineering teams. Jinko ESS Australia provided comprehensive support covering system design integration commissioning and ongoing operation and maintenance.

Dan Su, Head of Jinko ESS Australia, said the project demonstrates the company’s continued evolution in the market. He noted that by building on previous large scale deployments, Jinko ESS is increasingly positioned to support complex hybrid energy projects for the utility and mining sectors.

While the project is located in Australia, the integrated hybrid approach aligns with growing demand across Africa’s mining and industrial sectors, where reliable off grid and hybrid power systems are critical to reducing energy costs and emissions while maintaining operational continuity
