JA Solar DeepBlue 3.0 Panel Sales Exceeds 12GW Across 86 Countries

  • JA Solar’s DeepBlue 3.0 solar panel (module) is recognized by the global PV market for its outstanding performance and has achieved outstanding market acceptance.
  • At year-end 2021, cumulative global shipments of DeepBlue 3.0 exceeded 12GW across 86 countries and regions around the world.

Developed on the design mindset of “customer-oriented, to achieve best LCOE”, considering product compatibility with the production system, transportation system, installation system, and the entire industry chain. JA Solar believes the module based on 182mmx182mm wafers to be the optimal product solution for the PV market at current stage.

To effectively reduce LCOE and improve reliability and power generation, DeepBlue 3.0 integrates the advantages of multiple high-efficiency and low-degradation technologies, including the latest PERC high-efficiency cell technology PERCIUM+, Ga-doped silicon wafers, 11BB multi-busbar design and the half-cell configuration.

In September 2020, DeepBlue 3.0 became one of the first modules based on 182mmx182mm wafers (known as “182 modules”) to be certified by authoritative institutions such as TÜV SÜD, LVD and EMC, which enabled a solid entry into the global PV market. DeepBlue 3.0’s excellent power generation performance was recognized by third-party institutions, receiving awards such as TÜV Rheinland’s “Energy Yield Simulation AQM Award – Monofacial Mono Group” and TÜV NORD’s “Outdoor Yield Performance Awards (High-efficiency PERC Module Group)”. According to the half-year data declared in September 2021 from the energy yield test jointly conducted by JA Solar and TÜV NORD, DeepBlue 3.0’s energy yield performance was in the top tier among PERC modules in PV market, and its excellent power generation performance was further proven in terms of outdoor yield.

To promote DeepBlue 3.0, JA Solar and its peers successively jointly released the M10 silicon wafer standard size, a white paper for 182 modules, and 182 module product standards, to 1) enhance collaboration between upstream and downstream industry participants and 2) provide more convenience to customers when selecting products and for system design, installation and application.

Xinwei Niu, Board Member and Executive President of JA Solar, said, “We are pleased to see DeepBlue 3.0 playing a significant role in facilitating global carbon neutrality across 86 countries. We are committed to providing high-quality PV products and services that promote harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature. We are proud of the market’s enthusiasm for DeepBlue 3.0, as evidenced by this cumulative 12GW shipment milestone. This is not an endpoint, however. We are excited to celebrate this milestone, and will further improve product performance and service, and to help achieve the goal of global carbon neutrality.”

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
