- GREEN Solar Academy Cape Town has been growing exponentially over the past year and we have seen an increase in demand for our courses in the city.
- So much so that we have had to schedule an extra SuperSolarSchool course for 7-11 June 2021.
Due to the increase in interested solar enthusiasts we have also made improvements to our training equipment. Participants can, from now on, practice installations on two roofs. In addition to our existing corrugated roof, we have added a second mock roof, a tiled roof.
The SuperSolarSchool in general is a very practical course. In addition to the electrotechnical basics and functionality of PV systems, planning and project management, participants also have the opportunity to get to grips with correctly sizing the PV system according to the client’s requirements. Participants also spend a full day is spent on the roofs doing practical installation.
Participants can now experience a new challenge with the new tile roof. It might be not the most common roof type in South Africa, it is definitely one of the most challenging for PV installers. In the SuperSolarSchool and the PV Mounter course, all participants get the chance to practice the installation and precise alignment of the modules on tiled and corrugated roofs.
We have also made improvements to the solar systems themselves, alongside the construction of the extra roof. We now have eight brand new Jinko Mono Perc half-cell modules available and a new SMA Sunny Boy solar inverter. We have made all the improvements to our Cape Town Academy are to create a more complete learning experience for our participants and equip them for their future in the solar industry. With the variety of components on site, the participants can experience close to real life conditions and we can make sure everyone can actively engage in the installation.
