- Global solar inverter manufacturer ranks among top 5 percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis.
- The company advances to Management level in CDP climate change rating.
- The results highlight strengthening ESG governance and low carbon strategy.
GoodWe, a global supplier of solar inverters and smart energy solutions, has been awarded a Gold Medal by EcoVadis, achieving an overall sustainability score of 82 out of 100. The rating places the company among the top 5 percent of organisations assessed globally, underlining strong performance across environmental management, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
EcoVadis is widely recognised as one of the leading providers of business sustainability ratings and is used extensively by corporates to assess environmental, social and governance performance across global supply chains. GoodWe’s Gold rating was awarded under increasingly stringent evaluation criteria, reflecting the maturity and consistency of its sustainability management systems.

In the environmental category, GoodWe continues to expand green operations and low carbon manufacturing practices, improve energy efficiency and apply lifecycle thinking in product design. These efforts support the development of more efficient and resilient energy systems aligned with global decarbonisation goals.
The company also scored strongly in labour and human rights, with a focus on employee health and safety, skills development and fair labour practices, supported by an inclusive and responsible workplace culture. In the ethics category, GoodWe was recognised for its compliance structures, internal controls and risk management processes that promote transparency and integrity.
Sustainable procurement remains a key pillar of the company’s ESG approach. GoodWe has implemented clear ESG requirements for suppliers, issued a Supplier Code of Conduct and conducts supplier risk assessments while working closely with partners to improve performance across the value chain.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr Kenan Zhang, Director of the Sustainable Development Research Institute at GoodWe, said the Gold Medal reflects year on year progress in responsible and sustainable development. He added that the company will continue to strengthen its ESG roadmap, improve transparency and work with stakeholders to support a more resilient and sustainable global energy ecosystem.
In addition to the EcoVadis result, GoodWe improved its 2025 Climate Change rating from B minus to B under the Carbon Disclosure Project, moving into the Management level. CDP is one of the world’s most influential environmental disclosure systems, with more than 20,000 companies participating annually, and its ratings are widely used by investors and supply chain partners.
Under the more rigorous 2025 CDP assessment framework, the improved score reflects GoodWe’s progress in integrating climate risk into decision making, enhancing energy performance and strengthening environmental disclosure. The company treats climate change as a double materiality issue and embeds it into governance and operations through an ESG Strategy and Management Committee and dedicated execution by its Sustainable Development Research Institute.
GoodWe has also assessed climate related impacts on operations and supply chains, carried out greenhouse gas verification and is among the early industry players to complete Scope 3 emissions verification.
Looking ahead, the company plans to further strengthen climate governance and deepen management of organisational and product related carbon emissions, while continuing to work with industry partners to support the global energy transition.
GoodWe has an extensive distribution network across the African continent.
