  • South Africa’s state owned energy utiltiy, Eskom, has launched the interactive platform showcasing the results of the 2023 ‘Renewable Energy Grid Survey’.
  • A great tool for wind and solar project developers.
Eskom, the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) and South African Photovoltaic Industry Association SAPVIA have collectively conducted a ‘Renewable Energy Grid Survey’. The survey is a first of its kind and provides clear market intelligence on the status of the renewable energy sector in South Africa.

The platform provides projects per region with grid capacity assumptions. Not only is it valuable for project developers, but it also provides insight for Eskom’s future transmission capacity needs and overall grid planning.

The Renewable Energy Grid Survey is now available to the public – link HERE

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
