ENGIE reach financial close on two 75MW REIPPPP Bid Window 5 solar projects in South Africa

  • ENGIE with local partner in South Africa, Pele Green Energy, have reached financial close on two 75MW REIPPPP Bid Window 5 solar projects located in Graspan in the Northern Cape and Grootspruit in the Free State respectively. 
  • They were awarded preferred bidder status back in October 2021.
  • Projects have struggled to reached financial close in Bid Window 5 and after repeated extended deadlines, only 13 of the 25 projects awarded have now reached financial close.
  • The remaining 12 projects have a final deadline of 31st December 2023. Read more
