Through our Empowering Hope initiative, we recently partnered with Imagine Animal Dreams Shelter to provide a sustainable energy solution that will make a lasting difference to the shelter’s operations.
Founded and run by Cecelia, Imagine Animal Dreams Shelter is home to 186 rescued dogs. Every day, Cecelia and her small team work tirelessly to provide food, shelter, medical care, and a safe environment for animals that have often experienced neglect or abandonment. Despite the challenges of running an animal shelter, her commitment to giving every dog a second chance remains unwavering.

Recognising the financial strain that rising electricity costs can place on non-profit organisations, GoodWe set out to support the shelter by installing a solar and battery storage system. The project was made possible through the collaboration and generous support of Tesla Solar, K2 Systems, and Solar DNA & Electrical, whose contributions helped turn this vision into reality.

At the heart of the installation is the GoodWe ES Uniq 8kW hybrid inverter, paired with a GoodWe Lynx A G3 14kWh battery. This powerful combination provides reliable backup power and energy storage, ensuring that the shelter can continue operating during grid interruptions while reducing its dependence on conventional electricity. The system will help lower operational costs, allowing more of the shelter’s resources to be directed toward caring for the dogs.

The impact of the project extends beyond the technology itself. For Cecelia, having access to reliable electricity means greater peace of mind and improved operational stability. The savings generated by the system can be redirected toward essential expenses such as food, veterinary care, maintenance, and the ongoing wellbeing of the animals in her care.
While the installation marks a significant milestone, the shelter’s need for support continues. Donations remain critical to covering day-to-day expenses, and many wonderful dogs are still waiting to find their forever homes through adoption. Every contribution, whether financial or through adoption, helps ensure that Imagine Animal Dreams Shelter can continue its vital work.
