Are you a clean energy company in Southern or Eastern Africa looking for grant financing to scale an innovative solution? EEP Africa provides risk-tolerant early-stage grants, along with technical support, investment facilitation, and knowledge sharing, to drive clean energy innovation.
Private companies, start-ups, and social enterprises from any country are welcome to apply, provided they have early-stage projects in EEP Africa target countries and a strong local presence. Applicants must be legally registered for at least six months before applying. While NGOs, charities, and research institutions are not eligible for direct funding, they can participate as project partners.
EEP Africa funds feasibility studies, pilots, replication, and scale-up projects that demonstrate a clear path to profitability and potential for further investment. Eligible projects must be based on renewable energy or energy efficiency and fall within one of the following categories: residential electricity access, productive use of energy, mini-grids, power generation, clean cooking, mobility, or energy efficiency.
