- The South African National Energy Development Institute has welcomed the announcement of Dr Titus Mathe’s appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA).
- Mathe has served as Chief Executive Officer since October 2022.
SANEDI Board Chairperson Sicelo Xulu praised Dr Mathe for guiding the organisation with clarity, integrity, and vision, noting that SANEDI emerged stronger and more influential during his tenure. Dr Mathe will conclude his role on 31 March 2026 following acceptance of the TIA appointment.
The SANEDI Board confirmed that the Institute remains stable and fully operational, with interim arrangements to ensure continuity while a formal process to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer is undertaken. SANEDI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting South Africa’s energy planning, research, and innovation agenda, building on the solid foundation established during this period of leadership.
