- Langgewens Research Farm is located between Malmesbury and Moorreesburg in the Swartland. Established in 1926, the farm’s purpose is to provide infrastructure and staff to support researchers. Research institutions currently involved in projects on the farm include the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, Stellenbosch University, ARC Small Grain Institute, Swartland Cereals Development Group and other private institutions.
