  • The annual Wallpaper* Design Awards have just been announced, and the AXOR One basin mixer in Ice, by Barber Osgerby was announced as a winner in the “Best Clean Living” category.
  • Wallpaper* is the global design authority that has led the way in a number of industries since 1996.
  • Their vision is to inspire creativity, promote innovation, and recommend the very best in design – whilst continuing to change the way the world thinks about design.

Partners in Excellence

Lovingly designed by Barber Osgerby (Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby), the AXOR One collection captures the essence of luxury with its sleek design, purely pleasurable functionality and inimitable class entirely unto its own.

The AXOR One colour range reflects the brand’s elemental connection to nature through water, with the Aquamarine variant’s blue-green invoking the chromatic character of a calm sea. Coral is a warm, red-orange, like a soft sunset over a calm lagoon. Ice is a gentle, muted blue, like the infinitely layered tones of glaciers and sea ice. Stone is a bold grey, inspired by the intersection of land and sea. Shell is a cool, greyish pink, echoing the plant life beneath the waves; and Sand is the colour of the shore, wet from the ebbing tide.

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby explain, “Each colour balances the capacity to become part of a calm visual field with limitless scope for self-expression and individuality, reflecting the way in which bathrooms and small cloakrooms are increasingly becoming places that are less about neutral utility and more about original and impactful design. We chose the colours to complement the widest range of bathroom finishes, from enamel and concrete, to marble and wood”.

Barber & Osgerby have been interior and décor designers working with AXOR for many years. The two met while studying towards their Masters’ degrees and opened their first studio in 1996. They epitomise the philosophy of interaction design, and one of their most prestigious creations was the Olympic Torch in 2012. This award is the latest in a storied history of success for the pair.

AXOR One was born from the question, “how can the user have perfect control of the water?”. The duo decided that the answer was minimalist and monolithic; offering easy operation and complete control over individual showers, water temperature, and volume.

A History of Success

AXOR is no stranger to international acclaim, having picked up numerous awards over the last three decades. Their innovative designs have been celebrated around the globe, and include:

  • Red Dot Best of Best for AXOR Edge
  • iF Design Award in Gold for AXOR Uno
  • Green Design Award for AXOR Starck Organic
  • Iconic Award for AXOR MyEdition

AXOR has established a global footprint, delivering its incredible designs to over 140 countries, and affirming its status as a leader in the industry. This latest award adds another trophy to an already-full cabinet of excellence.

AXOR. Form follows perfection!

We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
