POWERCHINA to construct 130km 500kV transmission line in Egypt

  • POWERCHINA signed the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for Lot 2 and 3 of the East Ismailia to Zagazig 500 kV Transmission Line Project with Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co.

The project’s start point lies in Qaryat al Jana’in within the Suez Governorate, and its termination point extends to Zagazig 500KV Substation in Sharqia Governorate, covering a distance of approximately 130 kilometers across desert and farmland regions.

The facility will optimize Egypt’s power grid configuration, playing a pivotal role in fostering economic and social development.

This project marks POWERCHINA’s first EPC project in Egypt’s ultra-high voltage transmission line sector. This achievement will lay a solid foundation for the company’s diversified development and continuous exploration of new business areas in Egypt.
