KenGen Tenders for Rehabilitation of Olkaria One Geothermal Plant

  • The Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) has published an invitation for proposals for the provision of Consultancy Services for Implementation of the Olkaria One, units 1, 2 & 3 Rehabilitation Geothermal Power Project.
  • KenGen intends to undertake rehabilitation of Olkaria One 45MW geothermal power plant in order to enhance power output for another 25-years and improve efficiency.

The project entails upgrading or replacement of existing:

  • Well pad, vent station, and demisters (steam separators)
  • Turbine/generator
  • Cooling tower and auxiliary systems
  • Condenser and seal pit
  • Electrical systems and balance of plant

The project is packaged into one lot, incorporating Steam-field Rehabilitation, Power Plant and HV Substation Rehabilitation – Civil, Electrical and Mechanical EPC
