  • AMEA Power recently joined a high-level UAE Economic Delegation visit to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in coordination with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), and led by His Excellency Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem, Secretary-General of the FCCI.

Representing AMEA Power, Joel Mania Musikingala, Senior Manager – Project Development, joined discussions aimed at advancing economic and trade cooperation between the UAE and Ivory Coast. The delegation engaged with Ivorian government officials to explore strategic investments in key sectors, including in renewable energy.

The visit underscores our continued commitment to Ivory Coast, following the launch the construction of our 50MW Bondoukou Solar PV Plant in February 2025. Once operational, the solar PV plant will generate more than 85GWh of clean energy, powering approximately 358,000 households, and will offset more than 52,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
