PPA Signed for 10MW Gabès Solar PV Project in Tunisia

The Euro 7.2 million plant is expected to produce to produce 23 GWh per year, enough to power 14,000 households in the governorate of Gabès in the south-east of Tunisia. The PPA was concluded at 39.6 euros per MWh for a period of 20 years.

The Akua Energy consortium hopes to reach financial close in Q1 2021. The facility will include  bifacial modules on tracker mounting.

The Gabès photovoltaic solar power plant  forms part of the Tunisian Solar Plan (TSP), implemented by the Tunisian government with the aim of increasing the share of renewable energies in the electricity mix from the current 3% to approximately 30% in the next ten years.
