Pepsico in South Africa Sets 100% Renewable Energy Target by 2030

PepsiCo South Africa has set a target of 100% of its energy use from renewables by 2030.
So far the company has installed solar PV systems at ten of its facilities in the country.
The most recent being a 1.8 MW rooftop solar PV system plus 2.9 MWh battery energy storage system at their PepsiCo Park distribution centre in Ekurhuleni. Read more

Collectively, PepsiCo SA has invested around R120 million in renewables which is yielding annual energy savings exceeding R3 million. “In South Africa, we’re planning to realize 100% renewable energy by 2030 in our manufacturing sites,” stated Abdullah Khawaja, PepsiCo sub-Saharan Africa sustainability lead.

“Our PepsiCo Park distribution heart just lately obtained municipal approval in Ekurhuleni to attach a big photo voltaic PV plant and battery system.
