  • Mulilo has appointed Freddie Meyer as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective April 1, 2025.
  • He replaces Russell Bedford who is retiring after 13 years at the company.

Freddie has more than 30 years of experience in the finance functions of Eskom and a JSE-& NYSE-listed organisation. He most recently served as the CFO of Sasol International Chemicals, where he was responsible for financial strategy, capital allocation, and was instrumental in the reset efforts of the business. Prior to this, he held several senior positions within Sasol, gaining deep expertise in corporate finance, large-scale investment projects, and financial governance.

His experience extends beyond the chemicals industryโ€”during his tenure at Eskom, Meyer gained experience in the full power generation project development life cycle, equipping him with invaluable insights into South Africaโ€™s energy landscape.

Meyer expressed his enthusiasm for joining Mulilo: “I am honoured to be joining Mulilo at such an exciting time for both the company and the renewable energy sector in South Africa. Mulilo has established itself as a key player in the countryโ€™s energy transition, and I look forward to working alongside the team to drive financial innovation and support the companyโ€™s long-term success.”

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
