Increasingly folk are looking to live a more minimalistic lifestyle that does not depend on energy and water service providers. Climate change is changing mind-sets and people are opting for self-sufficiency under a sustainable theme. The Ecocapsule micro home may be the answer to their plight.
The Ecocapsule micro home is a self-sufficient and sustainable tiny home that generates its own electricity using both solar power and wind energy. The first prototype was introduced to the market back in 2015 and was immediately shortlisted for the Lexus Design Award, an international competition that supports creative minds and innovation from around the world.

More recently Bratislava-based designers in Slovakia have made the mobile homes available on the international market. The exceptionally compact, low-energy, and mobile dwelling is cleverly packed into an egg-shaped form that can be installed almost anywhere.
Made of steel and fiberglass, the Ecocapsule micro home has its own wind turbine, solar panels, and a water collecting system that filters its water and occupies very little footprint. The little home measures 15.32 feet in length, 7.22 feet in width and rises at a height of 14.76 feet. This enables it to be easily transportable via a shipping container.

For now, the target audience for the eco-capsule micro home is anyone who needs to remain in the outdoor nature for a long time. This includes scientists, researchers, bold tourists, photographers, camping lovers, and anyone who needs a mobile tiny home.
The Ecocapsule micro home is able to produce 750W of clean energy using the wind turbine and around 880W using the solar panels. The company will be concentrating on the first series initially with a second, more affordable mass-produced series to follow.
With the right modifications and design, the Ecocapsule could also be the answer to sustainable low cost housing programs on the African continent for both rural and urban communities.
