LONGi Announces Name Change to LONGi Green Energy Technology

  • LONGi, the world’s largest solar company, has announced that its name has been officially changed to LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd, to reflect a more comprehensive business scale in renewable and green technology, including the recent announcement that it is entering thegreen hydrogen equipment manufacturing field.
  • The company will retain the same stock code on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), 601012.

In recent years, Longi has turned its attention to green hydrogen. In a recent interview, Li Zhenguo, company founder and CEO, outlined their strategic shift and how he believes that coupling this technology with solar PV will be the key to achieving carbon neutrality. In 2018, Longi began to conduct strategic research into the hydrogen value chain. On Mar. 31, 2021, we officially established Longi Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd, and our first hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing plant in Wuxi, China. The first 1,000Nm3 / h alkaline water electrolyzer was officially launched in October 2021, and so far, several more have been delivered to our customers and put into production. The production capacity of the Wuxi plant will reach 1.5 GW by the end of 2022 and is expected to reach 5 GW to 10 GW by 2025.
