LONGi and JinkoSolar settle global patent dispute

  • LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (“LONGi Green Energy”) and Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. (“JinkoSolar”) today announced that the two companies and their affiliates have reached a global settlement regarding ongoing patent disputes and related legal proceedings.

Under the agreement, all worldwide patent litigation between the two companies will be terminated. In addition, LONGi and JinkoSolar have entered into a commercial arrangement that includes cross-licensing of selected core patents.

Both companies emphasised that the settlement reflects a shared recognition of the importance of intellectual property (IP) protection and a long-term commitment to fostering sustainable innovation in the photovoltaic sector.

As leading global solar manufacturers, LONGi and JinkoSolar will continue to increase investment in R&D, accelerate the commercialisation of advanced technologies, and explore further opportunities for collaboration. Both companies expressed confidence that the agreement will encourage wider R&D engagement across the industry and contribute to a virtuous cycle of innovation and competition.
