  • On September 18th, Astronergy announced the successful roll-out of ASTRO N 78-cell ZBB-TOPCon PV modules from Astronergy Fuyang factory, marking the official mass production of Astronergyโ€™s large-size ZBB-TOPCon PV module series.ย

In November 2023, Astronergy first introduced ASTRO N 54-cell ZBB-TF TOPCon PV modules globally. In the same year, Astronergy proudly became the first manufacturer in the PV industry to be awarded the ZBB-TOPCon product certificate at the mass-produced level by TรœV Rheinland. The expansion of ZBB large-size products, including ASTRO N 72-cell and ASTRO N 78-cell ZBB-TOPCon PV modules, was officially announced during SENC 2024 in Shanghai.

ZBB๏ผˆZero BusBar๏ผ‰technology utilizes more and thinner ribbons to replace traditional cell busbars. This design increases the light absorption area of the cell and reduces the risk of hidden cracks, enhancing current collection and improving the reliability of current transmission. Meanwhile, Astronergyโ€™s innovative carrier film has been developed with high bonding adhesion to realize the tight connection between ribbons and cells. Furthermore, the low-temperature manufacturing process effectively reduces internal stresses and provides better performance in terms of mechanical properties, thermal reliability and PID resistance.

The ASTRO N7 series employs Astronergy’s self-developed latest n-type TOPCon 4.0 cell technology and rectangular silicon wafers, combined with SMBB technology. Coupled with Light Redirecting Film and double layer coating glass, the entire product serie achieves high power, high efficiency, high reliability, high per-watt energy generarion, and low BOS and LCOE cost, embodying the module performance at an international leading level. In addition, the manufacturing process produces no flux or VOCs emissions, making the PV modules more environmentally friendly. By leveraging ZBB technology, Astronergy removes pad points and harpoon-like grid lines, resulting in a more visually appealing design.

Transitioning from small-size to large-size ZBB-TOPCon PV modules demonstrates Astronergyโ€™s dedication to technological innovation, which will greatly enhance the adaptability of its products to meet the diverse needs of global clients.

Recently, ASTRO N 78-cell ZBB-TOPCon PV modules have passed rigorous hot-spot endurance tests conducted by TรœV Rheinland and TรœV NORD, following the IEC 63126:2020 standard. This showcases the exceptional reliability and performance of ZBB-TOPCon technology and Astronergyโ€™s module products.

With a production capacity planned for over 6 GW in 2024, Astronergy is ready to meet the growing demands of the solar market and keeps supplying module products with high efficiency and quality guarantee.

Green Building Africa promotes the need for net carbon zero buildings and cities in Africa. We are fiercely independent and encourage outlying thinkers to contribute to the #netcarbonzero movement. Climate change is upon us and now is the time to react in a more diverse and broader approach to sustainability in the built environment. We challenge architects, property developers, urban planners, renewable energy professionals and green building specialists. We also challenge the funding houses and regulators and the role they play in facilitating investment into green projects. Lastly, we explore and investigate new technology and real-time data to speed up the journey in realising a net carbon zero environment for our children.
